Witnesses who spoke to the media said that the man stabbed his son in the doghouse early Thursday morning and left him by the roadside.
The child's injuries led to his death. Local residents punished the man for the act but police arrived early before being beaten.
Police have arrested the suspect while an investigation of the case is underway, and the deceased's body has been taken to Webuye's mortuary.
